A person’s reality is shaped by their stories, and how they are told. These stories can be true or false, sanctioned or unsanctioned, harmonious or antagonistic, etc.
Common consciousness (Volkgeist)
A society’s laws are often derived from its common conscious. The community narrative of equal justice for all is the source of many laws that are binding to the community. These laws can be influenced by social customs, religious beliefs and political ideologies. The law also includes the rules that are enforced by a controlling authority. These include criminal and civil laws. These are based on a constitution or a written or tacit agreement describing rights.
